The Clothes Airer - Every Home Should Have One

Some say a house is not a home until it has love in it. Quite a statement. Healthy natural relationships are a great foundation to start a home. Having a natural drying clothes airer is a sure first step what can be more natural than hanging your laundry out to dry. After all your grandmothers and your great grandmothers did.

Clothes airer competitions were a feature of Girl Guide and Scout summer camps. We would collect twigs and branches strip the bark from some and use this to bind a frame together which stood like an upside down V shape. Our clothes rack dryer won first prize and was the envy of all the other groups.

Having clean dry clothes to change into is one of our most basic needs. Today with energy costs soaring and natural resources dwindling we all must look to natural sustainable services.

The clothes airer provides this natural service for all the family or simply the individual living alone. How comforting to simply rinse out your delicates and hang them on the airer. Clothes drying racks are so easy to operate that the whole household soon cottons on to the natural drying cycle. Its one of those familiar rhythms that makes a home a place of rest and renewal. Away from the maddening crowd we all want to become relaxed and natural. To find ourselves with no artifice. To shake of the city dust, to remove the makeup. Slip on the familiar t shirt and jeans.

The clothes drying rack soon becomes part of that private world. Visitors or unexpected callers no longer see our laundry on show. No underwear on radiators. Everything neatly hung on a central clothes airer in the kitchen, bathroom or a spare room.

To be welcomed with the private personal world is indeed a privilege but in the case of the clothes airer every home should have at least one!
